Omaha Technical High School
1923 - 1984
A Call for Action
Eighty-two years of use have taken it's toll on the Technical High School Auditorium. It is time to bring the landmark
back to it's original splendor and use. The school's first graduating class received their diplomas 81 years ago.
Twenty years ago, the class of 1984 was the last class to graduate. Not only do the alumni desire to see a lasting
memorial to their high school, but they want the rich history of education and performances, that once took place in
the auditorium, to continue.
The auditorium will be available to community businesses and organizations that are looking for an affordable and
beautiful place to hold functions. The centrally-located auditorium will continue the high school's tradition of leadership
and quality for both students and the community as a whole. Please consider preserving Omaha's history for the
benefit of future generations.
Contributions
The Omaha Schools Foundation is recognized as a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal
Revenue Code. It is incorporated under Nebraska Law as a non-profit corporation and is governed by a volunteer
Board of Directors. The foundation exists to raise funds for projects and programs which are not funded through
the regular operations of the Omaha Public Schools. You can make a tax-deductible contirubution to the campaign
in a variety of ways:
1. Check or cash made out to Omaha Schools Foundation/Auditorium Restoration.
2. A pledge, payable over a three to five year period. For example, a $250,000 pledge for naming of the stage can
be paid in $50,000 increments over five years.
Campaign Leadership
The Technical High School Restoration Committee has been sanctioned by the Omaha Schools Foundation to take this
project from concept to completion. The Restoration Committee was developed when several Technical High graduates
had a dream of bringing the auditorium back to it's original splendor. After seeing the current state of the facility, and
knowing how much benefit it could bring to the community, these individuals recruited other alumni to help in the effort.
