"The Spirit of Tech High"
All Class Dance
As one of our special fund raising projects, we planned an "All-Class Dance" with the "Spirit of Tech High" as our theme. This dance was open to everyone, regardless of what school they may have attended (or currently attend). All proceeds from this dance (less expenses) went to our fund for the auditorium restoration.
On Friday, September 24, 2004, nearly 200 Tech High alumni, teachers and friends, danced the night away at the All Class Dance. The dance was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Omaha, and raised nearly $5,000.00 for the renovation of the Tech High Auditorium.
The evening was an opportunity to catch up with former classmates, make new friends and share the "Spirit of Tech High." One highlight of the evening was a silent auction with items including: a football autographed by Nebraska Heisman Trophy winners, including Tech's own Johnny Rodgers; Tech High memorabilia items, gift certificates and more. Along with the silent auction, the evening also included foot and a DJ .. another Tech graduate, who played music from all generations of Tech graduates.
A special gift of $1,300.00 came from the Class of 1944. They have issued a 'challenge' to all other classes to match or meet their very special donation.
