Carole Woods Harris - 1958

Carole (Anders) Woods Harris graduated from Technical High School in 1958.

After graduation, Carole attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the College of St. Mary, with a Business Administration Major. Carole was US West Regional Director and is now retired. She is also a Douglas County Commissioner in her 2nd term.

Carole has kept herself busy by being on the United Way Board; Methodist College Trustee; Omaha Personnel Board (Chairperson); YWCA Board (VP); United Methodist Community Centers Board (Pres); NCCJ Board; Omaha Chapter of Links Inc (Pres.); State Personnel Board; Nebraska Assn. County Officials Board; Eastern Nebraska Human Service Agency Board (Chairperson); Women's Fund of Greater Omaha Trustee (Founder & VP); Leadership Omaha Alumni Assn. (Pres.).

Carole has received the YWCA Woman of Distinction; National Community Leader; Omaha Press Club Honor; Nebraska Association of County Officials Presidents Award; Girl's Club Community Role Model; Leadership Omaha Distinguished Alumni; Western Heritage African American Award.
