Curlee Alexander - Tech Teacher


Curlee Alexander graduated from Technical High in 1965. He was a Teacher and Coach for the Omaha Public Schools. He married former Tech graduate Carolyn Gray. They have one son. Curlee attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received his BS in 1970 and his MS in 1976.


He taught at Tech from 1971 until it's closing in 1984. Curlee won 7 State Championships in Wrestling; was the National Champ at UNO in 1969, and he coached 32 individual State Champions throughout his teaching career.


Curlee was inducted into the UNO Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Nebraska Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame. He was named the World Herald Coach Of The Year in 1994, and was named the Metro Coach of the Year many times. Curlee was also named Nebraska Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" in 2001.


Curlee retired from the Omaha Public School System after 31 years of teaching. He and his wife reside in Omaha.
