Elbert (Rudy) Ross III - 1965


Rudy Ross graduated from Technical High in 1965. He received a BS from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE; an MA from the University of Saint Thomas in St. Paul, MN and the Bush Educational Leaders Fellowship from the University of Minnesota in Mpls, MN. His first teaching job was at Tech High in 1970/71, where he taught Physical Education, was the Assistant Varsity Football Coach and was the Head Varsity Boys' Swim Coach.


Rudy enlisted in the US Navy in 1971 and was commissioned as an Ensign, and served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He has served on the Minneapolis Urban League. He was also District Executive for the Viking Council Boy Scouts of America in Minneapolis; and was also with the Minnesota Institute on Black Chemical Abuse. He is also an active civic volunteer in a variety of programs.


He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
