Barbara Anderson - Tech Teacher
Barbara (Anderson) Watson taught at Tech from 1951 until 1983, as the girls physical education Teacher/Coach. She received her BS degree in Education from the University of Nebraska in 1942 and, an MA degree from New York University in 1950. While at Tech, she taught/coached tennis, volleyball, swim (water ballet), and basketball. She also assisted with track & field and judged Boys Gymnastics. In all, she taught from 1942 until 1983.
Widowed in 1973 by her late husband, Lambert, and having already raised 2 daughters, in Omaha, Barbara moved to Ely, Minnesota in 1983, to be closer to one of her daughters. She met a mutual friend of her daughter, and together Barb & her new friend, Bea, formed a 2nd career as wilderness canoe outfitters, guiding and outfitting canoe trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota (known as "The B's Wilderness Paddlers").
Now retired, Barbara continues to reside in Ely, Minnesota and is still actively involved in her community.
