Rose (Allender) Baker - 1960
Rose (Allender) Baker graduated from Technical High in 1960. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from UNO in 1965, and a Master of Science in Education in 1975.
She retired as an elementary physical education teacher for Omaha Public Schools. Rose is also an Instructor for the Red Cross Water Safety Program. She is also Vice President of the Nebraska Association of Health, Physical Education & Recreation.
Among Rose's many accolades is her dedicated involvement with the "Tech Hall of Fame Committee" and the "Restoration Committee" for the Tech Auditorium. Rose is the 'backbone' of our committee, and words can not express our admiration for all that she has done. She's also responsible for the restoration of Tech's "Memorabilia Room". Thanks, Rose!!!
Rose received the Mary Volcek Award from the American Red Cross for outstanding service in water safety, and the Outstanding Teacher of Elementary Physical Education from the NE Assn of Health, Physical Education & Recreation.
Rose has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. She resides in Omaha, Nebraska.
