John B. Morse - Tech Teacher


John Morse taught at Tech from 1958 until 1984, as a Social Studies teacher. He received his MS degree from Omaha University in 1957. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree.


During his 26-year tenure, John received the Omaha Education Association's Human Relations "Teacher of the Year" award, the "Cooper Foundation Award" for excellence in teaching, the Benson High Booster Club "Teacher of the Year," the "Paul Beck Outstanding Social Studies Educator" by the NE State Council, the Peter Kiewit Foundation Teacher Achievement Award and, he was recognized for outstanding service in the field of education by the Delores Kohl Education Foundation.


John was also the Coach of the Nebraska state champion baseball team at Tech High and a Nebraska State Boys/Girls Track Meet official.


Now retired, he spent his remaining teaching years (1984-1993) at Benson High. John & his wife, Anita F. Spidell, reside in Omaha. John has 3 children.
