Florence (Taminosian) Young
- 1925
Florence (Taminosian) Young graduated from Technical High in 1925. Florence served as Editor of the school paper, and was a member of the Debate Team.
Even though Tech's doors closed in 1984, alumni have continued to meet regularly and discuss their glory days as Trojans. Florence has been instrumental in organizing such get-togethers for over 65 years.
Florence started and managed two stenographic offices and sold real estate. Now, at age 95, she still fills her days in a constant effort to promote local events such as the Omaha Community Playhouse, and the Omaha Symphony.
Florence lives at Skyline Community Center in Omaha. She serves as a volunteer ambassador, helping to introduce new residents to the advantages of the center. She continues to take part in many organizations, including her church, where she gives a scholarship each year. And, at age 95, Florence still pursues the family business of repairing oriental rugs; a business her parents started in Omaha, in 1903.
