Ron Boone - 1964


Ron Boone graduated from Tech High in 1954. He earned a degree in Physical Education in 1968 from Idaho State University.


He spent 13 professional years playing basketball, scoring an impressive 18,000 points in his playing career. Ron is best known for his remarkable ABA-NBA record of 1,041 consecutuve games. He played for Omaha Tech High, Iowas Western, Clarinda, Idaho State Bengals, Dallas, Chaparrals, Texas Chaparrals, Utah Stars, Spirits of St. Louis, Kansas City Kings, Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz.


Ron was a member of Tech's 1963 high school championship team. He is also a member of the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame and the Idaho State Hall of Fame. He is a member of the State of Utah Hall of Fame and the Utah Basketball Hall of Fame.


Ron is also active in many community events, most recently his 6 years with the American Cancer Society - Huntsman Cancer Institute. He also raised in excess of 800-thousand-dollars as a member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers/Big Sisters.


Ron resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ron & his wife Jackie have 2 children.
