Kim Louise Whiteside - 1980
A 1980 Tech graduate, Kim Whiteside is also known by her writing name, Kim Louise.
Kim received her degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and her Master's Degree in Adult Education from Drake University.
A national best-selling author, she is the author of 9 novels of contemporary fiction, published by BET (Black Entertainment Television). Some of her works include: "Destiny's Song," "A Touch Away," "Indigo After Dark III," and "Falling For You."
Kim writes under the pen name Kim Louise. She has penned more than nine novels writing for BET and Genesis Press and has developed several workshops for up-and-coming authors to provide advice on how to get published. Her books have been chosen as Black Expressions Book Club selections and as "Top Pick" buys for Romantic Times Book Club. She is an inspiration to all women because she took a chance and quit her full-time job as a training consultant to pursue her dreams. She is a hopeful romantic who still can't believe that she gets paid to do what she loves, write.
