Gene R. Haynes - Tech Teacher
Graduating from Whisenton High School in DeKalb, Mississippi in 1963, Mr Haynes went on to earn his BS Degree in Social Studies with a Major in Economics in 1967, from Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he received his MS in Education and Administration and Supervision, in 1974.
He began his career at Tech High in 1967, teaching Social Studies. From 1971 to 1984, he was Tech's Head Boys Basketball Coach. When Tech closed in 1984, he became the Lead Teacher at Omaha Public Schools Special Study Center. In 1986, he was promoted to Assistant Principal at McMillian Junior High School, and in 1987, was the Assistant Principal at Omaha North High. Today, he is Principal at Omaha North High.
Mr. Haynes is a member of the Omaha School Administrator Association, the Omaha Education Association, and the Nebraska State Educational Association to name a few.
Gene and his wife Annie reside in Omaha.
