Wayne Simmonds - 1957
Wayne Simmonds graduated from Tech in 1957, as did his wife, Sonyarae Ranard. They were married in August of the same year.
Mr. Simmonds was called to Active Duty in the US Navy in 1958. He served 2 years, stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon his discharge, he returned to Omaha and began work for the predecessor company that he now owns, called Floorbrite, in 1961. In 1968, he purchased control of the company.
Today, Wayne is Chairman of the Board of his company, FBG Service Corporation, and has 1,750 employees and works in 22 different states.
He is actively involved in the Omaha community. He is a life-time member of the Goodwill Board of Directors and, is also a member of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Wayne enjoys golf, bowling, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Wayne is a widower, having lost his beloved wife in 2006 after 49 years of marriage. He resides in Omaha.
