Richard E. Artison - 1950


Robert E. Artison has been a self-employed law enforcement consultant, facilitator and trainer since retiring in December 1995 as Sheriff of Milwaukee County Wisconsin where he was elected to six successive two year terms to head a department of 878 authorized personnel with a budget in excess of $60 million.


Prior to becoming Sheriff, Artison held the following positions in the United States Secret Service: Assistant Inspector, Staff Assistant to Assistant Director (Administration), Assistant to Special Agent in Charge, Washington (D.C.) Field Office, Special Agent - Milwaukee and Los Angeles Field Offices. For nine years prior to retirement to accept appointment as Sheriff Artison was the Special Agent in Charge U.S. Secret Service Milwaukee Field Office.


Mr. Artison was a part of a three-member team selected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (Noble) to develop curriculum for a week-long Community Policing Seminar for the Nigerian National Police in 2001.
