Beverly Faye (Pailen) DiMauro - 1944
Beverly received a scholarship from Tech High to attend UNL but her father thought it was too far away so she was unable to attend. Beverly became a life-long student. With a BS in Spanish in 1982 and a BS in Communication in 1984.
After taking classes in hat making at OPS she owned DiMauro's Millinery Supply. She was called the "Hat Lady".
Beverly volunteered at the Nebraska Diabetes Assn., and became their Executive Director. She also taught English as a Second Language to Mexicans for 20 years, then became a Tutor Trainer & Executive Director of the Literacy Council. She then became the Cultural Director for Japanese students at Creighton University for nine years.
Beverly has received The United Way's "Leota Norton Community Service Award", The Volunteer of the Year twice at General Crook House, Volunteer Award for four years at The Western Trail's Museum in Iowa.
