Dear Friends:
In September of 1923, Technical High School opened it's doors to 4,000 students. Since that time, the school has
graduated thousands of students. The school's auditorium, which is one of Omaha's largest halls, has a rich history
and an enduring legacy in our city. With the help of the community, we can make sure this historical landmark
continues to serve Omaha.
When Technical High School was in existence, the auditorium was used for dramatic arts and musical performances,
graduations, assemblies and more. Other schools, businesses and community organizations also used it. Today, many
community organizations continue to use this auditorium for rehearsals, meetings and performances of all kinds.
The auditorium has not been renovated since 1923, and it is in need of a complete restoration. As Chairman of the
Technical High School Auditorium Restoration Campaign, I am dedicated to helping the Omaha Schools Foundation
raise the $2.5-million needed to transform the auditorium back to it's original splendor.
After the restoration of this beautiful hall is complete, it will be available for many more groups to provide artistic
performances and education to the public. The auditorium will be an affordable and stunning facility with state-of-the-art
accomodations that will seat an audience of nearly 2,000.
The restoration of the Technical High School Auditorium will not be possible without the help of the community. As a
Tech High graduate and an Omaha resident, I believe that the restoration of the auditorium will give the mid-town
community and all of Omaha, an affordable place for cultural activities while preserving an important part of our city's
history.
Please consider helping restore this valuable facility and providing the community with a new option for cultural and
educational activities. Your consideration of a gift to this project is genuinely appreciated.
Sincerely,
